Our belief is that people living homeless may be down, but they most certainly are not out. While homelessness is more than shelterlessness it is an experience that can impact all aspects of someone's life. Some may continue going to work, sustaining family and other relationships and others experience hopelessness and learned helplessness. The reasons for entering into and being sustained in homelessness are very complex, a combination of systemic and personal. It is a very tough and time consuming way to live with nothing that can really be taken for granted.
Street Coach cannot magic up affordable housing, health care or employment, but it can work with people in a dignified way that offers to witness what is experienced, stimulate and support aspirations and assist personal development and change processes.
Our programs and services to individual participants are all free. We offer some time pro bono, are contracted to offer some services and have donors fund opportunities for participants.
